Editorial Standards & Sources

How our guides use primary references, what we disclose, and what this encyclopedia does not claim.

Our approach

  1. Primary-source preference
  2. No paid ranking claims
  3. Authentication is specialist work
  4. Living information
  5. Corrections
01

Primary-source preference

For current specifications, warranty coverage, care and service, use the relevant brand's official product page, manual, boutique or service centre. For customs and consumer-protection questions, use the government authority responsible for the country involved. For gem identity, use a recognised gem laboratory and verify the report directly.

02

No paid ranking claims

The site does not promise investment returns or rank products as guaranteed stores of value. Where resale is discussed, we distinguish asking price from completed transactions and point out transaction costs and uncertainty. Any commercial relationships or sponsored work should be clearly disclosed before publication.

03

Authentication is specialist work

No single serial, date code, certificate, logo, stitch count, box or online tool can authenticate every product. We provide buyer questions and risk reduction, not authentication certificates. High-value purchases deserve examination by a qualified independent specialist and written seller protections.

04

Living information

Prices, availability, designs, warranties, tax rules and import procedures change by market. We intentionally avoid presenting stale rate tables as current advice. Follow the linked official source and check its date before relying on it.

05

Corrections

When a factual claim is found to be wrong or out of date, it should be corrected promptly and the page reviewed. Product-specific content should be refreshed against official material before major buying seasons or policy changes.

This guide is educational, not an appraisal, authentication certificate, legal or tax advice, or investment recommendation. Product details and local rules change; verify them with the brand, a qualified specialist or the relevant official authority.
